Intervention Parco dell'Anfiteatro Romano

A project reconnecting the Parco dell’Anfiteatro Romano with the Navigli through elevated pedestrian bridges, green areas, and interactive water features. Contemporary sculptures and informational stands strengthen local identity and pride.

Though rich in historical and natural value, the site is currently fragmented and disconnected. The project reinterprets it as both a place of memory and an active part of the contemporary city. Rather than over-programming the area, the design focuses on restoring connections through minimal, targeted interventions.

A consistent vocabulary unifies the site: flowing water as a connective element, pedestrian paths encouraging movement and pause, and elevated platforms offering moments of observation. At the Arena ruins, a light raised walkway allows circulation while protecting the archaeological remains. Vegetation replaces harsh barriers, creating a softer boundary.

The result is an open civic landscape where history and daily life coexist—a place to cross, experience, and gradually inhabit as part of Milan’s evolving urban fabric.
